Boy, what can I say????? Paul and I have had "land overload" as of late. Never ones to "timidly touch our toes in the water," we jumped headfirst into Life on Land. I capitalize the latter because it deserves the honour....Life on Land is a colossal step for us. We have been talking about it for over a year with only mild trepidation and much excitement. We have described this step onto terra firma as Exciting, a New Adventure, a Bend in the Road.....how little we knew, what babes in the woods we were.
Not even a full 24 hours later after arriving at the Summerside Yacht Club, we borrowed Mel and Fedora's car and took off to start looking for houses and properties. The day started with a great cup of coffee from Tim Hortons (a large, double-double). The creamy java, with a touch of sweetness went perfectly with my optimism. Paul and I were bursting with energy. We were thinking, "Wow, we've waited a year for this very thing to happen, and now we are here doing it...looking at houses, being in PEI....Yipeeee!" You probably are saying to yourself, "I've never heard Paul utter the word Yipeeee in all my life." And your right....I just combined our two thoughts together in the sentence, but you get the drift. Work with me here people.....
We have now been in Summerside for over a month, and have not found a house or a piece of land. Our excitement and optimism has wained, and we are now feeling a new kind of stress...one described best as the Cost of Living on Land. Ouch....it's freakin' expensive. This new stress is...well....new for us. I'll take the stress of ocean crossings, weather windows, and torn sails over this....seriously. As a couple, we've yet to experience this stress. We met on the water, and have lived on the water for the last 8 years.
On a positive note, we have really been enjoying visiting our friends and family...something we've been waiting for, for a long time. We had Adam and Denise's wedding reception, we sailed in the Friendship Regatta at SYC, we've had great evenings over at Mel and Fedora's house...........It's good for the soul.
We'll keep you posted on everything.
Cheers, and happy thoughts.

Hi guys, just dropped in to see how you're doing. Wow.. land? We're also looking for land to build on, and the boat is for sale. Oh yeah, and we have a new little crew member now too! Currently doing our last cruise for a while in Northern France/Channel Islands.
All the best, Craig and Jaime.
Hello, sorry to post on your personal blog, not sure how else to contact you. Was/is your boat for sale? I am very interested in C39s and would like to speak to as many owners as possible.
Thank you very much!
Lovely boat she is, white hull looks great and the interior looks phenomenal!
Mark, thanks for your comments. If you're interested in Corbins, send us a note, we'll help where we can. And yes, Quintana is for sale.
Write to us at: svquintana@gmail.com
